I can't help but think about my own personal experience with the justice system. I once had to go to court without any legal representation, and it was incredibly intimidating and unfair. I didn't have the knowledge or resources to properly defend myself, and I felt like the system was against me. It's important to recognise that legal aid systems can be underfunded and have strict eligibility requirements, leaving many low-income individuals without access to the legal services they need. Ongoing advocacy and reform work is necessary to make the legal system more equitable and accessible for everyone.
