Love your take here. I married a man in his mid 30s as I turned 20. Horrific experience, yet still seemingly celebrated back in 2005. I often joke that this was the big mistake of my life, not the teenage pregnancy that everyone made out was really it.

Abuse can often be hidden or disguised, making it difficult for survivors to recognize what is happening to them. When there is the power imbalance inherent in age differences, the situation can be toxic as fark.

The more recognition of this the better! Love that things are looking up with better awareness today.
