Thanks for this. Last month I wrote a list of the times I was sexually assaulted or abused, as an attempt to make sense of how these things continue to impact my life, now more than a decade on since the last big event. Reading this though, reminded me how many things I missed: the every day experiences (like catcalling) that are so normalised, we don’t tend to even think about them as part of that package of trauma women inherit.

My thought as I read this too, is that the lack of recognition for our traumas is in many ways even worse than the trauma of these events themselves too.
