Control is at the heart of why people abuse.

Social science statistics also demonstrate that most abusers are men.

Women can certainly abuse their partners too, but statistically we know that it is rarer for them to be the primary perpetrators and that where violence is inflicted by women, it is generally not as serious as that inflicted by men.
